We are all sitting on sofas right now in Brudenell Social Club in Hyde Park. It’s awesome to be back at Leeds. I’ve already sampled some of my favourite things about the city. Last night we stayed with Joel, another guy we had never met. He was extremely cool. We got a very long, good night sleep each, had a wake and bake this morning and headed out to the pub. I tried to watch Raw last night, but I fell asleep going into the third hour. I’m in the process of downloading it so I can finish watching it before tonight’s show.
We were apprehensive about staying with a stranger again, but my faith in humanity has been bolstered dramatically by this tour. He was a really cool guy. He was hospitable, friendly and helpful. We ordered a takeaway from my favourite place in the city: Sicily’s. The chips are absolutely amazing. I can’t even describe. It’s like a tradition for me to get some whenever I’m here.
Another thing I wanted to revisit was Brudenell Social Club. It’s such a cool place. It reminds me of the labour club my parents took me to in my childhood, but with a lot of younger, open minded people, free pool and a pretty brilliant concert room. They have a lot of cool live music shows here, and even some festivals. If you’re ever in Leeds, I recommend you check the place out. It’s a bit out of the city centre, but it’s a complete gem. I love being back here.
We aren’t sure where we are staying yet tonight because we have the luxury of two choices. Both are in Headingley. The venue for the show is Milo Bar, on Call Lane in the centre of Leeds. I’ve never been but I’ve been to a few of the other bars on the strip and I’m very optimistic that it will be a cool place. We aren’t sure what we are going to be up to after the show, but hopefully we will go out somewhere in town. I’d love to go back to Cockpit again. I’ve been there a thousand times but it’s another tradition of mine, and Tuesday is a great night down there.
Whatever happens, I’m sure we are in for a brilliant night. I’ve loved being back in my home away from home. We are off to the venue in a couple of hours. I’ll upload this and my review of last night’s RAW when we get to town and find some Wi-Fi. Then tomorrow it’s off to Sheffield. I’ll be through with an update tomorrow on tonight’s show, hopefully the after show session, and my thoughts on Sheffield. I’ve never been and I’m pretty excited!
