The Briscoe Brothers are one of the most respected, beloved and best tag teams in the world of professional wrestling. The two Pugh brothers have travelled the wrestling world and lit a trail blaze with their frenetic and violent tag team style.

The crux of their work is this: they’re just two good old Delaware boys who love to fight. They’re the very image of Southern trailer trash and the look is amazing, especially recently as the two brothers have grown amazing beards that just make them look even more wild.

The Brothers have been a mainstay of the independent wrestling circuit, working for such promotions as Pro Wrestling Guerilla and Combat Zone Wrestling. But they are most known for their work with Ring of Honor. Jay and Mark are true ROH veterans (Jay wrestled on the very first ROH show, with his little brother at ringside!) and currently hold the promotions record for number of tag team championship reigns at an astonishing 8 times. They are also two of the longest reigning tag champions in the promotions 11 year history.

Jay Briscoe

Jay is arguably the brains of the pair. While the tag team are quite rough house and brawling based, Jay is a very athletic and accomplished wrestler. In 2013 Jay Briscoe ended Kevin Steen’s brutal reign as World Champion. Jay is one of the most exciting wrestlers to watch in the ring.

Mark Briscoe

Highly athletic and a vicious brawler, Mark is a nutter who has clearly been hit in the head a few too many times, a fact that his missing teeth can attest to. He’s straight up and you know what you get, at least until the Redneck Kung-Fu kicks in!

They aren’t just good in the ring. They are absolutely amazing with the microphone. Take a look at this video for proof.

Whether it’s a straight up tag match or one of their signature ladder matches; the Brothers have been involved in some of the most legendary tag team matches that wrestling has to offer. My all time favourite match and feud however has to be their long standing rivalry with the Kings of Wrestling (Claudio Castagnoli and Chris Hero) and the match that topped the feud, the No Disqualification match for the World Tag-Team Championship at Death Before Dishonour. The match arguably has it all. Violent striking, great wrestling and awesome spots. You really can’t ask for more from a tag-team.

Violent. Tough. Brutal. Crazy. All of these words and more can be used to describe the two boys from Sandy Fork, Delaware but none of them really do them justice.
