TOUR BLOG #4: Stoke – A Place For Creativity

IMG_0461I’m sitting at the merch stand on my laptop again. This has become my home on the tour. We are at Bad Edit Venue in Burslem, Stoke-on-Trent. It is such an amazing place. A really creative place. There is a whole bunch of graffiti around. The air smells like wet paint. Flyers are on every table advertising the venue to anyone who may want to use it for music, art, theatre, whatever. Last night was a great real music venue, Bad Edit is just generally a cool place. I’m enjoying chilling on the sofa and waiting for the show to start.

Last night was really good. After a brilliant show, we drove to Nottingham to stay with Faye. I actually got a great nights sleep, albeit for five or so hours. I decided to stay up and revisit one of my favourite movies from my teenage years: Road kill. For those who don’t remember, it’s a generic road thriller about two brothers and a love interest driving across America and being tormented by a crazed trucker. We have spent every night navigating winding, pitch black roads with creepy signs warning death. Logical choice to settle down to then.

After that adrenaline thrill ride was over, I managed to get some sleep, have a lovely full breakfast this morning and gave my face a good clean. Last night was definitely one of those luxury nights. Tonight should be very different. As soon as this show is over, we are emptying the tip jar into the petrol tank and heading straight for Liverpool. We bought some cheap beers from home bargains earlier and we have a full bottle of black Sambucca in the boot.

Time to get wasted on the way, then head out for a Saturday night in Merseyside. None of us have been to Liverpool before and we are all really excited. We hooked it up so we are going out with the guy who Andy is doing a radio interview with tomorrow, and crashing at his tonight. The next two nights in Liverpool should be awesome. I’m still pretty concerned about Wrestlemania tomorrow but oh well.

IMG_0454Now for tonight, we have a few great people on. I’ve loved Burslem so far. There are a lot of cool sculptures, some cool street art and a shit load of pubs and bars. I like it here! But we are all looking forward to finally seeing Liverpool! I’ll be through with another update tomorrow. There is lots to come! We are at The Lomax tomorrow, we are doing media for Sean Music TV in the day, and it’s Wrestlemania at midnight!
